Post-translational Modifications

Post-translational modifications play an important role in the regulation of protein function and metabolism. Covalent addition of functional groups to proteins and proteolytic modification of regulatory subunits influence almost all aspects of cell biology and pathogenesis.  Assessing protein modifications is critical in the studies on protein function enabling higher quality and more productive research.

Ubiquitin, a Post-translational Modification

The Blue Sky team can assist with the need to assess protein modifications such as:

  • Phophorylation
  • Ubiquitination
  • Methylation
  • Acetylation
  • Lipidation
  • Glycosylation
